Day 1 – Monday: Australia to Johannesburg

Begin your African adventure with an overnight flight to Johannesburg.

Day 2 – Tuesday: Nairobi

Upon arrival into Johannesburg Airport, you’ll board a connecting flight to Nairobi and be met on arrival for a relaxing overnight stay at the Nairobi Safari Club. [B]

Day 3 – Wednesday: Nairobi to Arusha to Ngorongoro Crater

In the morning, you’ll head across the Kenya-Tanzania border for a sumptuous lunch in Arusha. After lunch, you’ll be driven to Ngorongoro Conservation Area and will check into your lodge in Karatu. Your dinner and overnight stay will include a taste of local culture at the Ngorongoro Farm House. [B, L, D]

Day 4 – Thursday: Ngorongoro Crater

Immerse yourself in the beauty and splendour of the Ngorongoro Crater today, as you descend 600 metres to the crater’s floor for an exciting day tour. Let your inner explorer out and discover the forests, lakes and open savannah – home to monkeys, elephants, flamingoes, lions and more. A scenic picnic lunch will be enjoyed in the crater during the day. Dinner will be served, and you’ll spend the night, at the Ngorogoro Farm House. [B, L, D]

Day 5 – Friday: Ngorongoro to Serengeti National Park

This morning, after a sumptuous breakfast, you’ll check out and set off for Serengeti National Park, arriving in time for lunch at your lodge. Following an afternoon game drive, relax, enjoy dinner and overnight at Serengeti Sopa Lodge in preparation for tomorrow’s full day. [B, L, D]

Day 6 – Saturday: The Serengeti National Park

Your entire day will be spent exploring the wilds of the Serengeti and discovering all of the natural flora and fauna for which it is well known. From large predators like the lions, leopards and cheetahs to the herbivores they hunt, this park is home to every variety of African animal imaginable. Game drives will be enjoyed the majority of the day, with picnic lunches interspersed, allowing guests the chance to see as much of the Serengeti as possible whilst on their journey. Afterwards, you’ll dine and spend the night at the Serengeti Sopa Lodge. [B, L, D]

Day 7 – Sunday: Serengeti to Lake Manyara National Park

Enjoy Breakfast at the lodge before checking out and driving to one of the Rift Valley’s soda lakes, Lake Manyara, will provide an extra opportunity to view the Serengeti’s beauty. Your Lunch will be provided at the Kirurumu Tented Lodge. Experience an afternoon game drive with the opportunity to view any number of the park’s indigenous wildlife, which include giraffe, gazelle, hippopotami, monkeys, elephants, zebras, tree-climbing lions and roughly four hundred species of birds. Return to the Kirurumu Tented Lodge for Dinner and your overnight stay.  [BLD]

Day 8 – Monday: Lake Manyara to Amboseli National Park

Enjoy a relaxing breakfast, then head to Arusha with a picnic lunch before hitting the Kenya/Tanzania border at Namanga. Your drive to Amboseli National Park and your accommodation will also double as a brief game drive so keep your eyes peeled! Enjoy an evening at Amboseli Sopa Lodge, with dinner included. [B, L, D]

Day 9 – Tuesday: Amboseli National Park

With the majestic snow-capped Mt. Kilimanjaro towering in the distance, Amboseli National Park truly is an awe-inspiring destination. Africa’s largest concentration of elephants call this park home, and thrive in the park’s swamps. In fact, more than six hundred elephants have been counted wandering about on some mornings. While you’re here, morning and afternoon safari drives give you a unique opportunity to view the rare black rhino, cheetahs, wildebeest, lions and more. Today’s itinerary includes three meals, and your accommodation at the Amboseli Sopa Lodge. [B, L, D]

Day 10 – Wednesday: Amboseli to Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, you’ll enjoy a drive to the Lake Nakuru National Park. Along the way, a picnic lunch will be enjoyed at a scenic spot. You’ll reach the park in time for an exciting evening safari drive. Dinner and your evening stay will be at the Lake Nakuru Lodge or similar. [B, L, D]

Day 11 – Thursday: Lake Nakuru to the Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Today, you’ll reach the famous Maasai Mara Game Reserve via Narok in time for a lovely lunch and afternoon safari drive on site. Afterwards, dinner awaits, followed by a night’s accommodation at the Mara Sopa Lodge. [B, L, D]

Day 12 – Friday: The Maasai Mara Game Reserve

The entire day will be spent exploring the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, a breathtakingly beautiful nature reserve, more abundant in wildlife than anywhere else in Africa thus providing the greatest chance to view Africa’s ‘Big Five’ (and so much more) in one day! Morning and afternoon safari drives will be available, giving guests a chance to view the approximately ninety five species of animals and more than 400 species of bird. Head back to the Mara Sopa Lodge after a busy day for dinner and another comfortable overnight stay.  [B, L, D]

Day 13 – Saturday: Maasai Mara to Nairobi to Johannesburg

After a farewell breakfast, the drive back to Nairobi will see you there around noon. You’ll then head to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport before boarding a flight back to Johannesburg and then bidding farewell to Africa for a flight back to Australia. [B]
