Your experienced guide will meet you at the airport and escort you to Karen Blixen Camp. Set on the banks of the Mara River, the camp accommodated 22 luxurious tents. The camp is spectacular and well located, with the great plains behind the camp and the impressive escarpment in front, overlooking the wildlife rich river. After lunch you will be taken on your first game drive in this remarkable wilderness area. [L, D]

Day 2: Masai Mara

The morning and afternoon game drives provide you with untold opportunities of witnessing the vast array of wildlife that makes the Masai Mara National Reserve so unique. The reserve is renowned for its migration of wildebeest and zebra during July to October, however, it’s spectacular at all times of the year. Your guide will use his extensive knowledge of the area to locate some of the more elusive animals and using his experience, will place you in the best possible position to capture these rare sightings on film (figuratively speaking of course, memory card just doesn’t quite have the same ring to it).

During the heat of the day, when all creatures take a rest and an unspoken truce exists between hunter and prey, is the time to replenish the soul with a soothing massage in the privacy of your tent overlooking the magnificent Mara river or simply relax around the beautifully situated pool.

Day 3: Masai Mara – Amboseli

This morning, enjoy an early morning ‘bush breakfast’ before boarding your private Cessna Caravan Aircraft for your flight to Amboseli National Park. As you approach Amboseli, you will be able to see the magnificent Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa. Upon arrival you’ll be transferred to Satao Elerai Camp, enjoying the stark beauty of the scenery, the wonderful wildlife and of course the ever present Kilimanjaro, as you make your way there. The camp is situated on an escarpment with amazing views over Amboseli Park and Mount Kilimanjaro. After a sumptuous lunch, you be taken to a typical Masai village and experience a glimpse of life within this traditional tribe.

Day 4: Amboseli

This morning, your guide will take you on a morning game drive in Amboseli National Park before making your way back to camp for lunch. Make use of the relaxing afternoon to catch up on missed sleep or gaze in wonder at the enormity of Kilimanjaro from the comfort of your private deck.

This afternoon, we will take a game drive through the conservation area and as the African sun starts to make its way beyond the western horizon, we stop for another great African tradition – Sundowners. As darkness encroaches we return to camp under spotlight in the hope of catching a glimpse of some of the more elusive, nocturnal creatures.

Day 5: Amboseli – Tsavo West

After breakfast we once again board our aircraft and set course for Tsavo West National Park. At the airstrip we will be welcomed by the team from Severin Safari Camp. Lunch is served and afterwards, you have the opportunity to experience the pleasures of Kenbali Spa or enjoy the beautiful scenery from the camp pool or relax with a massage or a facial. The spa is inspired by the African wilderness and blends with Southeast Asian techniques – making it an oasis. This afternoon, you will visit the very popular Mzima Springs, a little oasis surrounded by palm trees and acacias. At Poacher’s Lookout, watch another breathtaking sunset while sipping champagne and savouring tantilising canapés.

Day 6: Tsavo West – Tsavo East

Take a walk on the wild side and discover African wilderness by foot! Your Masai guide will take you on a tour and you’ll learn about the ecosystem, the life and role of the many birds and other park dwellers. After breakfast, back into the luxury Cessna for your flight to Tsavo East. This area is popular for its herds of red elephants. On arrival at the airstrip, your guide will take you to Satao Camp. Check in and enjoy a beautiful lunch before experiencing your first game drive in this area.

Day 7: Tsavo East

After breakfast you will be taken on a game drive with a picnic lunch on the way to ‘Luggards Falls’ situated on the Galana River. Luggards Falls are actually amazing rapids where the Galana River disappears into a rocky gorge. During the rain season, the raging rapids plunge into a giant pool where huge crocodiles rest and sunbake on the riverbank.  The tumultuous falls have been instrumental in carving fantastic shapes in the landscape and this area is well known for the multi-coloured and unusual rocks. The rapids, that become raging torrents during the rain season, plunge into a large pool below, where giant crocodiles rest and sun themselves on the sandbanks. In the early evening, enjoy a sun downer as the beauty of the day passes by.
