Day 3: Amboseli National Park

Today you will experience morning and afternoon game drives in the Amboseli National Park where you will have the opportunity of spotting some superb wildlife. From the moment you enter the Park, you will constantly see something new and different. At first you will be thrilled by the various different gazelles, zebra and wildebeest but before long your hunger for more exciting game will come to the fore. The experience and knowledge of your guide now comes into play and his keen eyesight will find things large and small to interest you. Overnighting again at the beautiful Amboseli Sopa Lodge. [B, L, D]

Day 4: Amboseli National Park to Lake Manyara

This morning after an early breakfast, we will depart Amboseli Sopa lodge and make our way through traditional Masai land to the Kenya / Tanzania border at the small town of Namanga. Here you will be expected to complete border formalities exiting Kenya and entering Tanzania. This is also where you will meet up with your Tanzanian guide who will take you on this leg of your journey. Once through the border we will make our way to the town of Arusha in time for lunch before heading on to Lake Manyara National Park for our overnight stay at Lake Manyara Serena Lodge. [B, L, D]

Day 5: Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro Crater

We get an early start today as we do a morning game drive in the Lake Manyara National Park. This park stretches for 50 km along the floor of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Lake Manyara National Park is only a small park and famous for its tree climbing lions. Manyara also has one of the highest concentrations of baboons in the whole of Africa – these primates are funny and bring much entertainment to your game drive just by going about their day-to-day routine. After our game drive we will head back to Lake Manyara Serena Lodge for lunch and then set off for the Ngorongoro Crater. The Crater is huge and full of amazing wildlife. Your accommodation tonight will be at the Ngorongoro Crater Sopa Lodge, perched on the edge of  this incredible Crater.[B, L, D]

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater

After brekkie, you hop into your Safari vehicle and take the steep descent right into the crater floor. The local authorities only allow people to spend a maximum of 6 hours inside the crater so during your allotted time there will be plenty to see with approx. 25,000 animals that make their home on the crater floor. This area has got one of the highest concentrations of lion in the entire African continent. It is also home to many other species, including zebra, wildebeest, gazelle and most other creatures. At the end of the game drive you’ll head back to the Ngorongoro Crater Sopa Lodge for a delicious lunch. Spend the rest of the day relaxing around the pool or checking out the beautiful hotel and grounds. [B, L, D]

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti

By now you’re used to the Safari life and loving it. After breakfast you’ll hop on the vehicle and travel via Olduvai Gorge to the Serengeti National Park. Olduvai Gorge has major anthropological significance because this is where fossilised remains of what is thought to be the earliest specimens of humankind were discovered. After this you’ll make your way to the Serengeti Sopa Lodge, where we will be spending the next two nights. [B, L, D]

Day 8: Serengeti National Park

Today you get to explore Serengeti National Park on both morning and afternoon game drives where you are bound to see the ‘Big 5’ Animals of Africa and is home to one of the largest and most famous migrations in the world. This is where millions of wildebeest and zebra are in constant search of fresh grass meals. This amazing migration makes the Serengeti and it’s neighbouring, Masai Mara game reserve two of the most sought after destinations in the world.

Because the migration is controlled by nature and rainfall in areas hundreds of miles away, witnessing this sight is based more on luck rather than good planning but even if you’re not fortunate enough to visit the Serengeti during the annual migration the resident wildlife still makes for magnificent game viewing. All manner of game, including elephants, buffalo, wildebeest, zebra and numerous, gazelle and antelope species occur in the Serengeti, not to mention an abundance of birdlife that will keep any twitcher on the edge of their seats. Overnighting tonight at Serengeti Sopa Lodge [B, L, D]

Day 9: Serengeti and Lake Victoria

After breakfast, you’ll say goodbye to the lovely staff at Serengeti Sopa Lodge and transfer to Musoma – a small town on the shores of Lake Victoria; here you will board your boat transfer to Lukuba Island Lodge. After check in and lunch, enjoy an afternoon boat cruise on Lake Victoria.  [B, L, D]

Day 10: Lake Victoria and Masai Mara

Watch the sunrise over Lake Victoria and over breakfast, before boarding the boat for your transfer back to the mainland where you will once again meet up with your guide who will take you north to the border at Isebania where you will complete the required documentation before meeting up with your Kenyan guide who will lead you through the Masai Mara and show you all that Kenya has to offer.

Once you arrive in Masai Mara, the journey to your accommodation at  Masai Mara Sopa Lodge will be done as a game drive, arriving in time to check in and freshen up before dinner. [B, L, D]

Day 11: Masai Mara

How about a morning and/or afternoon game drive in the famous Masai Mara, where there will be amazing photo opportunities and lots of unique animal spotting. It can get a little warm midday so this is when you can catch up and relax around the pool, read a book on your private veranda overlooking the magnificent Mara. Again overnighting at  Masai Mara Sopa Lodge. [B, L, D]

Day 12: Masai Mara/Lake Nakuru

After breakfast, you’ll head north, out of the Masai Mara and drive through interesting little villages and small towns seeing and experiencing the everyday life of Kenyans, in Kenya. We arrive at Lake Nakuru National Park and check in at the Flamingo Hills Tented Camp before departing on a game drive in this beautiful park.  [B, L, D]

Day 13: Lake Nakuru -Nairobi

This is your last chance for an early morning game drive before departing for Nairobi, where you will arrive at your hotel,  Southern Sun Mayfair Hotel around lunchtime.

The afternoon can be spent at leisure around the glorious pool or just relaxing in the calming gardens; don’t eat too much for lunch because this evening you will be treated to a farewell dinner at one of Nairobi’s most famous restaurants, the Carnivore.  [B, L,D]

Day 14: Nairobi
