Day 1: Camp Okavango

Upon arrival at Maun Airport (northern Botswana) you will be met by a representative and helped onto your chartered light aircraft for the flight into the heart of the Okavango Delta. About 30 mins flying time will see you landing at the Camp Okavango airstrip where you will be met by the camp staff, then a short walk to camp where you will be shown to your luxury tent. Afternoon tea will be served before embarking on your scheduled game activities.  [D]

Day 2: Camp Okavango

Today you will embark on scheduled game activities offered by Camp Okavango. Guests can explore the scenic waterways of the Okavango Delta by Mokoro (canoe). Drifting silently through the floodplains and channels allows you the opportunity to view the abundant bird and animal life almost undetected. A motorboat cruise allows you to get further into this magnificent wetland where you can take a guided walk on one of the islands or even try your hand at fishing for bream or Tiger fish. Sundowners round out a fantastic day in one of the world’s most unspoilt wildernesses. [B, L, D]

Day 3: Camp Moremi

After an early breakfast, we negotiate the narrow channels and the vast lagoons of the Okavango as we take a two and a half hour boat transfer to Camp Moremi  overlooking the Xakanaxa (ka-ka-na-ka) lagoon. Situated within the Moremi game reserve, Camp ‘M’ as the locals call it, is in one of the most game rich areas of Botswana. Ancient Mopane forests, open grassland, seasonal floodplains and riverine habitats combine to create a welcoming African wildlife sanctuary. Trained naturalist guides share their knowledge of Botswana’s wilderness with you on game drives, where you could see wild dog, cheetah, leopard, lion, giraffe, elephant and buffalo. Other activities include bird watching and powerboat excursions to the Gadikwe lagoon.  [B, L, D]

Day 4: Camp Moremi

An early wake-up call and a warm cup of coffee prepares you for the early game drive. To be successful at finding the elusive nocturnal predators, we need to be on the search while they are still moving around. Some of the most spectacular sightings have been recorded in this part of Camp Moremi and it is a favourite area with many operators, fortunately, tourist numbers are very strictly controlled in Botswana, so your game viewing experience is always the best possible. We return to camp when the animals start to settle down for the day, then enjoy some fantastic food and have a rest through the day before once again resuming our quest for the remarkable creatures of Africa in the early evening. [B, L, D]

Day 5: Savute

After breakfast, you will be met by your guide and transferred by road to Camp Moremi Airstrip, where on arrival you will be assisted onto your light aircraft flight to Savute.

Upon arrival into Savuti Airstrip, you will be met by a Representative/Driver and transferred by road to Savuti Safari Lodge for your two night’s accommodation in one luxury tent including all meals, scheduled game viewing activities, park fees, local beverages and laundry.

Time permitting, we will have a short morning game drive before bidding farewell to the wonderful staff at Camp Moremi and driving the few kilometres to the Xakanaxa airstrip for your charter flight to the central Chobe National Park where the magic of Savuti awaits. This region is home to some of the greatest wildlife displays in Africa. The Savute is known for its mysterious vanishing river, the Savuti Channel which links the Linyanti Swamp and the Savute Marsh. It is also famous for its predators, especially Lions and Hyenas. You will be met at the airstrip and driven to Savuti Safari Lodge. Over the next two days you will explore this area by a 4 x 4 open safari vehicle, under the expert leadership of your professional guide who will show you sights that few people in the world have had the privilege of seeing. Savuti will burrow deep into your soul and make you forever want to return to this extraordinary place. [B, L, D]

Day 6: Savuti

Once again, early morning and late afternoon game drives will take you far and wide over this massive expanse of African bush. Savuti abounds with vast numbers of animals. Resident lion prides as well as leopard, cheetah, wild dogs, and a multitude of plains game are just a few of the mammals that you may encounter.  For those that are a little adventurous and are able to handle some mountain climbing, there are  some old ‘bushman’ rock paintings on the nearby ‘Gobatsa’ hills. When you are not out on your game drives, relax in the unparalleled luxury of your room or admire the elephants from the deck as they saunter past the camp on their way to .. wherever they want to go.  [B, L, D]

Day 7: Chobe National Park

This morning after breakfast, you will take a gentle drive to the airstrip, passing the waterhole along the way where you may get a last look at life going on in Savuti. On your flight to Kasane you will truly get to realise just how remote this magnificent African country really is, as from horizon to horizon, all you see below you is unspoilt Africa. Kasane is a small town nestled in the North eastern corner of Botswana, where the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers merge and also the meeting point of 4 countries: Botswana, Zambia, Namibia and Zimbabwe meeting somewhere in the deepest channel of the river. It is also the meeting point where you will be collected for your transfer into the Chobe National Park where you will spend two nights at the world renowned Chobe Game Lodge, one of the first lodges in Botswana.  [B, L, D]

Day 8: Chobe National Park

As with the other lodges, game drives are conducted in open sided 4×4 vehicles ensuring maximum visibility. You also have the opportunity to enjoy a sunset cruise on the Chobe River. The game viewing from the cruise is conducted by small, shallow and highly manoeuvrable boats captained by expert boatmen. This will enable you to see spectacular wildlife up close and experience unforgettable African sunsets. Your local guides will also tempt you with slide shows, star gazing presentations, garden and river walks as well as walking safaris in the nearby Kasane forests. The park is famous for its huge herds of elephant and buffalo as well as magnificent star-gazing. It has one of the greatest concentrations of game found on the African continent.  [B, L, D]

Day 9: Livingstone – Botswana/Zambia Border

After breakfast, your Guide will transfer you from Chobe Game Lodge, through the small town of Kasane, and then onwards to the border at ‘Kazungula’ where you will need to complete departure formalities for Botswana and then entry formalities for Zambia. You will then continue on to the David Livingstone Safari Lodge & Spa, Livingstone for your two night stay.

Situated only 5 Km from the mighty Victoria Falls, the David Livingstone Safari Lodge & Spa is a magnificent end to a spectacular African holiday. There are a vast array of activities to suite every taste that can be booked or undertaken from the lodge, please see our recommendation for optional activities. [B]
